Our project approach for implementing Cybex's e-commerce advanced analytics platform is built on four strategic building blocks, delivered through three dedicated workstreams, and managed according to proven project management methodologies. The following sections detail our comprehensive plan for a successful implementation.

Information needs for Business and Sales Reports are collected and implemented as SAC-Stories including Anomaly Detection and NLP Interface.
Data storage is setup based on collected information requirements split in Bronze/Silver/Gold layers. ETL-Pipelines are implemented for data integration.
Integration is set up for various sources systems e.g. S4. Important: we would consider a migration (not a connection) of BW4 to BDC.
Q&A Interface is delivered as Data App using the SAP Generative AI Hub.
These four building blocks form the foundation of our implementation strategy, each addressing a critical aspect of Cybex's e-commerce analytics needs. They are designed to work together as an integrated solution while allowing for focused development and implementation of each component.

The three workstreams operate in parallel throughout the project lifecycle, with interdependencies managed through regular cross-team coordination. This approach enables efficient resource allocation while ensuring that the integrated solution meets all of Cybex's requirements.

Waterfall
Waterfall
Implementation of the release backlog in individual sprints (2-3 weeks)
Presentation of the sprint results after each sprint in reviews
Testing of the results in the following sprint by key users
Sprint 1 → ... → Sprint n+1
Agile
Our hybrid approach combines the structure of a waterfall methodology in the early phases with the flexibility of agile development during implementation. This ensures proper planning and requirements gathering while allowing for adaptability as the project progresses.

Cybex target architecture covered by SAP Business Data Cloud
The architecture aligns perfectly with Cybex's goal of establishing a centralized data repository that can handle both structured and unstructured data while providing advanced analytics capabilities.

As part of the Exploration Phase, various workshops with business are conducted to gather detailed requirements. These requirements are validated against comparable requirements from previous projects to ensure effectiveness for steering business processes.
An iterative implementation phase allows Key Business Users to approve development and provide direct feedback for later sprints. Weekly meetings with relevant key users are set up during exploration and implementation. Post-implementation, key and end-user trainings are performed with the development team to ensure adoption.
The technical concept is presented and approved by the customer's internal IT prior to the start of implementation, ensuring alignment with development guidelines.
As part of the launch phase, a detailed handover and comprehensive trainings are provided by the development team to the customer's IT. Throughout implementation, weekly coordination meetings discuss relevant technical topics and challenges, preparing the customer for future maintenance and development.
Data storage is based on a layered approach with performance-optimized reporting structures in SAP Datasphere. Reports are built based on proven vendor best practices in design, chart structures, and navigation paths (from aggregated to details) to ensure high performance.
We ensure that the RAG application's knowledge base is complete, relevant, and regularly updated according to the specified scope of the application to prevent hallucination.
Proactive risk management is a critical aspect of our project approach. We've identified the most common risks for enterprise analytics implementations and developed specific mitigation strategies for each, drawing on our experience with similar projects.

Data Platform will be implemented based on Cloud-First approach to assure a scalable and maintainable state-of-the-art environment.
As part of the Exploration-Phase detailed test cases will be defined together with business stakeholders that will be basis for agile implementation and assure that business requirements are understood.
Requirements will be captured as User Stories including detailed business logic and connected to detailed test cases as part of the exploration phase prior to implementation.
Data Lakehouse is implemented based on layered approach to ensure flexibility and extensibility.
Authorization concept is split into data authorization on row-level and functional authorizations maintaining row-level security with single source of truth approach in SAP Datasphere.
The project will be delivered in a hybrid approach (Waterfall + Agile) that allows an agile implementation based on solid conception and scheduling defined in preceding waterfall phases.
If possible and agreed by Cybex the project will be managed and documented using JIRA & Confluence. Documentation will comprise business background and requirements as well as a technical documentation.
Developer/Consultants are not split into Frontend/Backend-skills but instead are full stack developers allowing end-to-end implementation.
Our implementation approach is grounded in industry-proven best practices that have been refined through numerous successful SAP BDC implementations. These practices ensure high quality, efficient delivery, and sustainable results for Cybex.

Our solution is structured around four core building blocks, each addressing a critical aspect of Cybex's e-commerce advanced analytics requirements. These building blocks form a comprehensive platform that enables sophisticated data analysis, visualization, and AI-powered insights.

Sample Sales Report in SAP Analytics Cloud for Cybex
The Sales Reports building block delivers comprehensive analytics capabilities through SAP Analytics Cloud. These reports are designed to provide Cybex's business users with immediate insights into sales performance across various dimensions, with customizable views and automated distribution to key stakeholders. The intuitive interface makes it easy to drill down into specific areas of interest while maintaining consistency in presentation and calculations.

Data Change Insight Activation and sample outcome

The Anomaly Detection feature leverages AI capabilities within SAP Analytics Cloud to automatically identify unusual patterns or significant changes in Cybex's e-commerce data. This proactive monitoring system helps business users quickly spot potential issues or opportunities without having to manually analyze large datasets, enabling faster response to market changes or operational problems.

SAP Just Ask interface with result chart
"Just Ask transforms how business users interact with data, making analytics accessible to everyone regardless of their technical expertise."
The Natural Language Processing capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud's "Just Ask" feature democratize data analysis within Cybex by allowing any business user to ask questions in plain language. This reduces the reliance on data specialists for ad-hoc analysis and empowers users to explore data on their own terms, significantly increasing the adoption and value of the analytics platform.

After setting up all connections, we build up the bronze layer of the architecture using data flows, replication flows (for persistent storage) and remote tables (for virtual storage) depending on the connection and data type.
This layer, that we call "Acquisition Layer" then stores raw structured data from all source systems, enabling further development of data models.

Data Flow connecting to an AWS data source

Layer Architecture in SAP Datasphere
The Bronze layer forms the foundation of our Data Lakehouse architecture, serving as the initial landing zone for all data from Cybex's various source systems. This approach preserves the original data in its raw form, providing a single source of truth while enabling subsequent transformations and enrichments in higher layers. The architecture is designed to handle the large data volumes anticipated in Cybex's e-commerce environment.

Using graphical views, SQL views and data flows which support Python scripts, we transform and harmonize the raw data while also adding business semantics to model master and transaction data.
The silver layer shall be split into a "Harmonization Layer" which divided data by source and "Propagation Layer" which divides data by application and prepares them to be used as foundation for analytical models.

Data Flow with a script transformation in SAP Datasphere

Scripting environment within a data flow in SAP Datasphere
The Silver layer is where raw data begins its transformation into business-ready information. Through a combination of graphical tools and Python scripting, we apply business rules, standardize formats, and implement quality checks to ensure consistency. This layer bridges the gap between raw data storage and analytics-ready datasets, enabling more sophisticated analysis in the Gold layer.

Finally, the data will be elevated to analytical models which enrich transactional data with associated master data to be used in reporting and AI applications.
These models are optimized for performance and usability, making them ideal for dashboard consumption and advanced analytics applications.
The Gold layer represents business-ready data that has been fully validated, transformed, and enriched with the necessary context for meaningful analysis.

Analytical Model in SAP Datasphere
The Gold layer delivers analytics-ready data models that combine transactional and master data in ways that directly address Cybex's business questions and use cases. These models are designed with both performance and usability in mind, making them ideal for consumption by reporting tools and AI applications. The layer structure also supports governance by providing clear lineage from source data to final analytics models.

Unstructured Data will be processes using Pipelines and Notebooks in SAP Databricks which allow for the creation of Data Products which will then be used in SAP Datasphere as foundation for new models.
This approach enables Cybex to incorporate valuable insights from unstructured data sources such as:

Example of an SAP Databricks Notebook for publishing a Data Product
The ability to process and analyze unstructured data is a critical differentiator for Cybex's analytics platform. By leveraging SAP Databricks, we can apply sophisticated techniques like natural language processing to extract meaningful insights from text-based data and integrate them with structured data in SAP Datasphere, providing a truly comprehensive view of the business.

For structured data:
Leveraging the various Salesforce APIs, we can use the native generic OData connector in SAP Datasphere
For unstructured data:
Still using the Salesforce API, we can use the Jobs and Pipelines app in SAP Databricks to ingest the unstructured data

Jobs and Pipeline App for Databricks ETL
Salesforce integration is critical for Cybex's e-commerce analytics, as it brings in valuable customer data and marketing performance metrics. Our approach leverages SAP's native connectors for structured data while utilizing Databricks for the more complex unstructured data, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all Salesforce data assets.

The native S/4HANA connector is easy to set up and support real-time data replication
The native BW/4HANA connector can be used to replicate master data in BW/4HANA that has been managed inside BW before.
As SAP Datasphere will ultimately replace SAP BW/4HANA as a data warehouse, we propose a greenfield approach, that is connecting the source systems of SAP BW/4HANA to SAP Datasphere directly and model master and transaction data in the new environment.
For SAP source systems, we recommend a forward-looking approach that positions SAP Datasphere as the strategic data platform. Rather than simply connecting to BW/4HANA, we propose migrating to a more modern architecture that directly connects to original source systems. This approach reduces redundancy, improves data freshness, and provides a cleaner path forward for Cybex's analytics environment.

Configuration Screen for Generic OData Connection

Configuration Screen for Generic SFTP Connection
Beyond the core SAP and Salesforce systems, our solution incorporates additional data sources that are essential to Cybex's e-commerce operations. Payment data from Adyen, document management content from SharePoint, and various file-based data sources via SFTP are all seamlessly integrated into the centralized data platform, providing a comprehensive view of the business.

Self-Serve GPT Powered Q&A Interface delivered as a Data App using SAP's GenAI Hub provides flexible access to a variety of LLMs from different providers.
Key features include:

Simplified Sample Workflow for RAG Method (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
The GPT-Powered Q&A Interface represents the cutting edge of business intelligence, allowing Cybex users to interact with their data through conversational prompts. By implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), we ensure that the AI responses are grounded in actual Cybex data rather than generic knowledge, providing accurate, contextually relevant insights in natural language.

AI Foundation on SAP BTP and Gen AI Hub, including:

Example: SAP HANA Cloud Multi-Model engines in RAG
The technical architecture of our AI solution leverages SAP's comprehensive AI platform to deliver a secure, enterprise-grade experience. By utilizing SAP's Business Technology Platform (BTP) and the Generative AI Hub, we ensure that the solution meets Cybex's requirements for security, scalability, and integration with existing systems, while providing flexibility for future AI enhancements.

Since 1911, Klüh is supporting clients in Cleaning, Catering, Clinic Service, Security, Personnel Service, Airport Service or Integrated Services. As part of its digital transformation, Klüh has decided to bring its ERP/CRM system landscape up to the current state of the art. After a long evaluation phase, the decision was finally made in favor of the SAP portfolio. Syskoplan Reply was chosen for the implementation because, in addition to its expertise, it was also a reliable partner.
From the SAP portfolio, Syskoplan Reply has integrated the S/4HANA Cloud (Public Edition), Sales and Service Cloud, Analytics Cloud, Datasphere and Build holistically with the remaining Klüh systems via the Integration Suite. In addition to the actual system introduction, change management methods were also used to implement the changes in the company in the best way.

The aim of the project team at the customer is to implement four strategic projects and the resulting requirement to manage dependencies and interactions: - Migration of data from SAP BW 7.5 non HANA to SAP BW/4HANA - Creation of a reporting system based on this - Creation of a data entry screen for HR data in the SAC. - Development of a planning solution. Interfaces to the peripheral systems are created for both reports and data entry.
The basis for the success of the project is an approach that focuses on the central migration to the modern platform. - Migration is prepared by harmonised development guidelines and architecture - Packaging of the content to be migrated reduces complexity - Iterative transfer creates added value for the business - Legacy BW is shut down together for all content packages
SAP Analytics Cloud | SAP Analytics Cloud Planning | SAP BW

By using the live connection, modifications to the database in the SAC are severely restricted, which is why scripting was often used to implement functional requirements. On the one hand, this is a trade-off between functional requirements and technical feasibility. On the other hand, open, binding and goal-orientated communication within the entire project team as well as with the customer contacts is a key success factor.
